Draw and Play Online Drawing Games

Drawing websites and online drawing games provide another dimension to let kids learn about drawing. The first step most children start to learn to draw is by scribbling on paper and various type of canvas. It is fun and enjoyable as the kid try to express himself through pictures.

Nowadays, there are many ways for kids to indulge in drawing to their heart content with online drawing games and websites. These drawing sites can be so fun that they do capture the interest of parents and adults too. As parents, we can take this opportunity to play some online drawing games together with our kids. I am sure this will rekindle our childhood fun in drawing.

I still remember using the wall of our home as my drawing pad when I was a kid. However, it did not go well with my parents though. In addition to the porch floor as drawing board, my kids will have drawing websites for drawing to their heart content.

There are many drawing online games and websites. Depending on kid’s age and his development level, the young ones may just want to find a pad to scribble while the older ones demand more fun and entertainment out of it.

Online Drawing for Young Kids

This BillyBear website is a great drawing site for preschoolers to scribble and do simple drawing. Bear in mind that it can be a challenge to do drawing online as a mouse is used instead of a pencil. It can be a great time to train those fine motor skills. Make sure your young kids do not get frustrated over it. In addition, of the drawing pad on the website, it includes cute colored clip art, which allow your kids to add onto his drawing. This makes it easier for him to create a piece of drawing for himself.

Kids who are just simply looking for a fun time to learn to maneuver his mouse to draw, this site can be interesting. The open pad creates rainbow design and color as one move the mouse around. Let the kids create his abstract art. Print it, frame it and hang it up.

Drawing Games for Older Kids and Adults

The Draw and Fold Game is one of the most interesting online drawing games to play with friends. This game simply brings the idea of Draw and Fold game into the online world. Instead of passing on a piece of paper after each player draws part of the picture, you do that online using email. You need a few players with email addresses. Each player draws a part of the picture and sends it over the email to the next player to complete. It can take a while for the picture to be completed. One good point is that not all players need be physically around. It is also a good way for parents and child to be connected over email.

For those older kids, you may want them to play Draw-It Game. This game is similar to playing Charade. One player is given a clue; he draws on screen online while others guess. Here are some caveats for parents - just be aware of the post-it advertisement when the game is loading. (It is understandable that the advertisement is so prominent since this site is sponsored by 3M, the innovator of Post-It pad.) Your kids will be playing with live players from the cyberspace. I would recommend not registering since registration is not necessary. So, each time when your child goes in to play, a temporary name is assigned to him.

Drawing is an art and there is no right or wrong how we draw a picture. It is a form of self-expression as well as another method of communication. Online drawing games provide kids the opportunity to learn to express themselves through drawing. It is also an outlet for them to draw to their heart content without wasting paper and creating a mess out of it. Doing online drawing with our kids can be fun for us, the parents too, as we go back to the days when we just scribble to express ourselves.
