Preschool Learning Activities for Busy Mom
Preschool learning activities may be the last thing on a busy mom's mind or agenda when one has to coup with the daily endless chores.
If play is work to your child then daily chores can be playing time for a busy mom with her kids too.
The interacting moment we have with our children provides us with excellent opportunity to teach them and develop their skills. Playing preschool learning games and activities need not be expensive or confined to a certain time or a specific place.
Here are some preschool learning activities I used to play with my kids. I hope you will enjoy them too.
Rhyming After Bath as a preschool activity
While drying up after a bath, you can teach them some
children nursery rhymes.
Here is one which I enjoyed very much with my two kids.....
After my bath I try, try, try. To wipe myself till I'm dry, dry, dry. Hands to wipe, fingers and toes. Two wet legs and a shiny nose. Just think how much less time I'd take, if I were a dog and could shake, shake, shake.
Kitchen as a Learning PlaygroundKitchen is a great place for learning. Give some safe and unbreakable utensils to your kids. Let them figure out the different sizes of pots, pans, plates and bowls. Sharpen their fine motor skills by pouring beans or rice from one cup to another or sort out different color beans. These are creative hand eye coordination games too. Take a step further for some more preschool learning activity in the kitchen. Slip in some simple reading by reading up ingredients in recipes book together while planning meals.
Preschool Learning Activities while ShoppingChildren love to help out and be involved in mom's daily chores. - Seek their help to write the grocery-shopping list. - While driving to the supermarket, make it a game to point out and read license plates, billboards, and interesting road signs. - At the supermarket, get the kids' help to look up items in the supermarket. Do some simple math activities by counting items and reading prices when you checked out. - On your way home while stopping by the cafe to have a snack, read the menu to your child and let her make her choice of order.
Fitting learning activities for preschool kids into a mom's busy schedule is not so difficult after all. We can incorporate math, reading, writing and many other learning skills into the daily activities while we interact with our kids.
